Aaron Busher And Crackerjack Voyager Strike Big

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Fishing water just four miles southeast of Montague Island, Aaron Busher and the Crackerjack Voyager hooked up with what would become the largest halibut landed in Seward in the last five years. Landing the giant 86–inch, 338–pound halibut put the Crackerjack Voyager atop the leader board at this year's Seward, Alaska, Halibut Jackpot Tournament.

The Colorado fisherman dropped a 17–ounce lead head with an 8–inch Berkley PowerBait Grub, and immediately hooked up with the giant halibut. Busher was fighting the big fish with of PENN Torque 10 reel spooled with 50–pound Berkley Fireline Tracer Braid, topped with a 60–pound Stren Coral Pink fluorocarbon leader. The rod was 7–foot PENN Torque rod.

The fight lasted 45 minutes, which included several blistering runs. With line blazing off the Torque, Busher felt comfortable with his equipment stating. "I knew my equipment could hold up. That is why I fish with PENN. It has never failed when it mattered most."

As Captain of the Crackerjack Voyager, Andy Mezirow, was witness to the entire show.
"This is by far one of the best fishing trips," said Mezirow. "It is easily the largest halibut that I've seen come out of these waters for at least five years. Aaron handled the pressure with ease and you could tell he was wore slick after the brute was landed. Plus, it was a jackpot tournament and everyone on board had derby tickets, which means if the lead holds up we all win."
