Berkley Fishing and PENN, global leaders in fishing tackle, announce their partnership with the Berkley World Catfish Classic. The event is set to take place May 31st to June 3rd at Chiprana, Spain. Berkley and PENN plan on sending 51 teams to compete in the Catfish Classic.
As part of the sponsorship, Berkley pledged a one-of-a-kind Berkley Pro catfish boat and trailer for the biggest catfish of the tournament. Both companies have also pledged product prizes to first, second, third and fourth-place finishers.
“This is a great opportunity to show all the great catfish products that are offered by Berkley and PENN,” said Andrew Marks, Berkley Marketing Director. “The teams plan on using the PENN Sargus, special Berkley Catfish Pellet rods and Berkley Catfish braided line. Both of which are available only in Europe for the time being. The Catfish Classic event is just starting this year with its very first edition, following the famous world carp classic tournament that has been going on for 12 years in Europe, we are happy to be part of this new event dedicated to catfish only.”
