Rated 2 out of 5 by broken mantis from Sad But True, Gulp Has Gone Soft Dear Gulp, I as your biggest fan of the mantis shrimp could not be more disappointed to find out the news of you going soft is true. After a day of fishing this weekend, I had pieces and parts of gulp bodies all over the bottom of the boat, where I used to fish one or two baits all morning. WHY Did you change??? The new package fixed the leaking, but now I fear that they are not worth the money. Not to mention they now can cost you a fish because they tear in half on the bite leaving no second chance at a strike. We want to love the old you. Please come back to us.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Rick341 from Good but too soft Both the original and the Mantis shrimp gulps are awesome baits and will entise a bite when other baits won't but the newly designed Gulps are far too soft. They will pull off or tear with little effort. That's to be expected at times even with the original Gulps but the new ones are damaged so easily, they are just not worth the price any longer. I'll still buy the original Gulps in the dark blue package when I can find them. Hopefully Berkley will wise up and realize the new Gulps aren't what they used to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Capt Scott from Catch All! I've been throwing nothing but the mantis shrimp for an entire season now. It has caught just about everything we have to catch here in Central Florida's inshore waters; speckled trout, snook, redfish, tarpon, black drum and more. I believe the extra legs not only wiggle, but slow down the drop of your jig allowing me to work it a little slower. It is now my go to confidence bait.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SHolton from Did not meet the test I gave the Mantis Shrimp an average rating due to the bait simply does not hold together long. This is an excellent fish producing bait but Gulp needs to produce it with a bit more toughness. I have noticed the change across the board in soft baits not holding together. I do hope Gulp addresses this problem. Gulp products produce excellent results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JerryS from new gulp shrimp and mullet too soft I have used the 3" shrimp and the 4" mullet for years. Excellent bait. This year they are different and do not hold up to the fish. One bite and gone or halved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Trout Master from Great Flounder Bait I have been using mantis shrimp since they showed up in our area about 3 years ago. The white with a chartreuse tail is an outstanding bait for flounder. I use the swimming mullet also and it is excellent. The mantis shrimp is really good for those days when the bite is difficult. The bait can be difficult to find during the flounder run since it has become so popular.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joe Guide from Awesome for redfish, and speckled sea trout You can do no wrong with white/new penny or molting on 7/16...1/8...1/4 oz jig head working your drop offs, and creek cuts inshore. Watch JOE GUIDE Fishing Videos in the Carolina low country !!! God bless you....real good! (Take a veteran fishing each month with you in your coastal waters.) V/R Joe Guide
