The Best Line Ever In All Categories
I bought 14 lb Vanish because articles I read about pitching recommended braid or fluorocarbon. I tried braid first and hated the way it spolled of my baitcaster and the sound it made running thru the rod eyes. Got rid of it and tried Vanish and I am sold. I am more accurate and the line weigt makes it easy to pitch or cast. Have to adjust the reel because it does come of the spool faster than mono but that is minoir compared to the fishibility of the Vanish fluorocarbon. I tie the Trilene knot and the knot strength is incredible. The thin diameter is a plus also. I am getting rid of mono and replacing it with Vanish on all my reels.

Very disappointed
I had high expectations as I stripped off some Berkley braid that has been on for years and never had any issues. I moved to a fresh water area and didn't need the braid so I changed it to some 10 lb fluorocarbon. When initially adding the line I noticed that every few feet it felt like there were inconsistency sun the line thickness. I have it on a shamino spheros 4000 and am casting out crows nest on almost every cast. I initially was using artificial without a swivel, then attempted to use a swivel to see if it would change, things did not. I am still spitting out crows nest. I am very disappointed in this line and will not purchase it again.

Amazing Strength and Invisibility
I've been using the 12lb test for NW Salmon/Steelhead; I tie 5-6' leader to braid mainline using a modified albright. I caught 5 15-20lb Chinook on the same leader without any problem! This product DOES DO what it says it does - it's up to the fisherman to select and tie the appropriate knots to maximize the line features. Berkley Vanish is a great product and like all products, must be used correctly - get some Vanish, tie some good knots, GET BENT!

Did not have good luck this season
I bought this brand new again this season for the opening day of Trout season in CT. 6 lb test is what I have always used and this is about the third year in a row I have used Vanish. But I will not be using again, it would tangle at the blink of a eye. When it would cast and feed out it was great, but I spent a good part of the day fixing tangles and not fishing. When the line came out of the tip of the rod, no pig tails, but by the reel was a mess. I would not be writing this if it was a complete new set up ,but no. I hope Berkley gets it figured out. I did buy their Fire Line and returned the Vanish.

Totally awesome fluorocarbon line, dude!
I do a lot of surf fishing off the San Diego beaches here in Socal and my line of choice is Berkley Vanish. I typically tie up snelled leaders of Vanish 4lb. to 8lb. test and attach it to a 10lb.Carolina rig main mono line setup. I'm impressed on how the Vanish is so lightweight/invisible yet strong enough to handle hookups of corbina/halibut/large surf perch or the occasional snags of kelp/eelgrass. Plus, the Vanish is an affordable option to some of the more expensive fluorocarbon lines out there.

Great line for the price point
Bought a spool of this line 20lb , did some reviews on it ?? It was a toss up good or bad ?? Spooled it on my vintage Abu ambassadeur no. 5000c and bps extreme jig/worm rod 6'6 and conditioned the line with "real magic" the night before(no backslashes or spool over runs) after fishing a hour or two the line performed better than expected from the reviews, tossed it in wood , stumps and lilly pads and the knots take well to spite the reviews (uni-knot works the best for me sets well with Carmen lip balm lol) the line lays flat and casts well , line conditioner is a must with this line (kvd line and lure, real magic etc....) I'd recommend this line to a friend

Great line at a great price
You can find flourocarbon line that just about needs to be purchased on the installment plan. Is it better than vanish? Not from what I have seen. Berkley Vanish is true flourocarbon line at a price that we can all afford. I have been using it extensively for the past two years. I piece varying thicknesses together for fly fishing leaders as well use it as my go to line for both spinning and casting reels.
Overall, the line performs extraordinarily well in all applications. Sensitivity is superb and castability is equally awesome. There are a ton of discussions out on the web debating the best overall knot to use on flourocarbon line. I have found that the ultra simple Davy knot works just fine. I have yet to lose a fish using this knot.
