Rated 4 out of 5 by Mcluvin from Great value. Surprisingly strong I bought this rod for my son to pull snappers and flounder out of the surf in NC. My first impression was you get what you pay for and I wasn't expecting too much for 30$ shipped. I did like the blank and action which is exactly what I wanted. Lure weight rating is spot on even though we were lob casting up to 1.5 oz. Very sensitive, light, and true moderate/ fast action. The reels seat seams flimsy. I didn't think it would hold up to any big fish. I was mistaken. My son hooked a 3' sting ray in the sound between 2 docks. 45 mins of constant rod bending stress to lift him up off the bottom and around wood pylons. I had the rod bent over 90+ degrees alot of the time. The moderate action is the only reason I didn't snap the 12lb mono. Definitely surprised and impressed for the 30$ I spent. I only wish I could say I was using berkley big game mono. I'm definitely considering buying one for myself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JerryZep from Very poor manufacturing I buy a lot of Berkley gear, I have always been satisfied with the product/brand, until this rod.....the eyelets, and where the reel mounts are WAY off center! Someone wasn't paying attention, or just didn't give a darn. Popped my balloon about this rod and the company, doubt i'll buy another, shame, line make a heck off a racket when reeling in certain braids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NATHAN Kean from A good saltwater or freshwater rod! I bought this about a month ago because the Berkeley cherrywood hd medium action 7ft was not in stock. It actually ended up costing less than the cherrywood would have because they were running a 30% off sale. But with that aside this rod is extremely light much more than the cherrywood in fact and has held up well so far. The only difference between this rod and the freshwater amp is that this one specifies a slightly higher line strength. All in all I am very pleased with this rod. The only thing that bugged me is I use braided line, which is very limp in nature compared to mono or flurocarbon, so since the hook keeper is on the bottom of the blank my line would constantly wrap around the rod blank and get stuck whenever I was hopping a Texas rig or jig. The simple remedy to that was to remove it. Which I did with a pair of pliers. I normally hook my lure on the reel itself anyways so it wasn't a big deal. Other than that I believe you would be very pleased with this rod if you purchased it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alexisdad44 from I love these rods they are the best I've ever used Bought 1, then liked it so much that I ordered 5 more in the casting and spinning variants. I have the 7 and 7'6" models in both salt and freshwater versions. I just ordered 2 more for my kids who are fishaholics. I highly suggest you buy a few and try them out. They are stellar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kwkidwell46 from Great rod and value for the price. I bought this rod as an addition to the spinning rod I bought on sale. I’m using it daily for redfish and trout with great success. This rod is crazy light and very responsive. It has quickly become one of my favorites I carry in the boat daily.
