Rated 5 out of 5 by Reel Screamers Guide Serv from Great all around rod As a guide my equipment gets placed into a lot of hands that do not exactly take care of a product the way that I would. I have been using the Berkley Inshore rods for over a year now and they have performed really well. They are durable and hold up well under repeated abuse. For the more refined fisherman, when teamed with todays braided lines, they are sensitive enough to feel the most finicky bite, flexible enough to handle small trout and have the backbone to wrestle bull drum to the net. My set up consist of Berkley Inshore rod, Penn Fierce 3000 spooled with Berkley Trilene Professional Braid 30lb. I would recommend this set up to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aqueduct Slant from Feels Quality I just got the time to go and use this rod. It is a superb rod for the money. It feels better than my other rods. The cork looks good. The rod feels likes quality made. The blank looks and feel strong. The handle looks good with the comfort bump. Love the color combination. Very handsome. My only critique is that it feels heavy but it is b/c of my reel. I have a Daiwa Lugana so you can see why that is. It is a light rod. The other part is that the rod is stiff...but I wanted a stiff rod so....it's perfect. If you don't like the stiff feel, get a different model. I mean it seems stiffer than the rating......I need stiffness for my game so I'm fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cumminspower90 from the right feel i bought this rod a couple weeks ago in a medium light 7'6" to throw worms with my bait caster, and so far its been perfect for its job. it has the right amount of backbone to set the hook strong and muscle some big bass outta the weeds but yet light enough to throw worms a good distance and feel every bump the worm gets. great rod. it also can throw crankbaits like a rocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Keysfisher from Great all around! I bought a 7 6" for baitcasting a and two 7 footers for spinning. I fish mostly inshore kayaking around mangroves . the rods can get pretty banged up in tight mangrove channels but have never had a problem. Super strong guides great for braid plenty of backbone. First time used caught a 26 lb barracuda with no problem at all. I fish between 150-200 days a year so I know these rods are much better than the standard rods that come with most combos. 7 6" with shimano curado 300 7 ft with Penn spin v 3500,4500. Best deal out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hiimhaiii from Berkley inshore fishing rod I love the real seat design, comes with top grip cork handle fixed onto the top reel nut that holds the reel to the rod. Lots of backbone strength but sensitive, I would say firm sensitive, since this is model heavy action the bend is felt top 1/3. The Fuji guides have ceramic inserts which really allow me to cast far on my 7ft, which I thought might have been short at first. It's not. Unfortunately I broke the first rod taking a spill on the jetty and my second one ended at the bottom of the lake when I fell in from a large wake. Grate rod, just bad luck. Will probably go back and buy a 3rd, once this Al Bundy curse is lifted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jim Dunigan from The price was right I bought this rod because the price was right for a good quality rod by Berkley. The rod had 1.5 inches of the tip broken off when I received it. I reviewed the website and it said that this rod was out of stock. So, I installed a new rod tip eye eventhough it is now 1.5 inches shorter. It is still 7 feet 4.5 inches long now. I haven’t had an opportunity to take it out fishing yet, but it is a beautiful and looks to be a well made rod, that I would have always expected from Berkley. I have fished with Berkley rods exclusively since the 1980’s. And will continue to purchase Berkley rods in the future because of the quality an sensitivity of their rods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Capt Matt from Outstanding inshore rod for the money! Used this rod last season to fish for rock fish and lingcod in shallow water, working rosk reefs and kelp beds with rubber small rubber swim baits. This rod performed way beyond my expectations with great casting and sensitivity while providing plenty of back bone. Used it to land multiple double digit lingcod in depths from 10-75 feet with lures from 1/2 to 1.5 ozs. Liked it so much I bought a spinning version paired with a penn battle 4000 for clients to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by fishhunter808 from Good value, not the most durable. I have had 2 of the 7' Medium Light rods, and I have to say that for the price you get a good quality rod for lighter inshore use. The blank is not the strongest however. The first rod I purchased broke during my first trip with it. Berkley's warranty is fairly good, and they were willing to replace the rod. The 1st replacement came broken, but the second came intact and was going well until the ceramic inserts on 2 eyes came out. I bought another, and it broke after 2 months of using it while flipping a fish up a jetty. Overall, I find that this rod is a good value, but special care needs to be taken to not high-stick with it or put it under too much pressure.
