Rated 5 out of 5 by Nosmo from After shock I’m a big fan of the lightning shock, this regular spinning rod is sharp. One piece is a must for sensitivity, and I will not come apart at the wrong time. I parried this with a Revo Rocket 35 series, it’s gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slip from Lighning Rod 6’6” Med. Lt. 2 piece spinning The Lightning Rod was recently updated and it is a beautiful rod and a good value. The new reel seat is especially comfortable and functional. I bought this rod to cast 1/10 to 1/5 ounce crayfish imitating crankbaits for river smallmouths. The moderate fast action of this rod allows me to cast these light crankbaits because of its lively tip but still has the backbone to handle sizeable smallmouths in a moving river. Well executed rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by noneya from Backbone of my business! I use this rod for my guide business targeting striped bass. I run approximately 250 trips per year and tried several rods until I found this rod. Customers are rough on equipment and this rod holds up. I continually look for something better and try new rods but ALWAYS come back to Lightning Rod. I have been using them for 12 years and am never disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DoubleM from Excellent Rod I have used the Lighting 5'6" for many years, purchased a new one this year as I am going more ultra light. Matched with a Pflueger Supreme 30 the combo is awesome on bream and crappie and will land the occasionally bass. The rod is very sensitive but has plenty of backbone for a slab.

Rated 5 out of 5 by discomotofish from Another Great Lightning Rod in My Arsenal I just bought the two piece 7 foot medium action Lightning Rod this week and it is great! I've owned at least 15 Lightning Rods since my first one in the 1980s, and for the money they can't be topped. I still use many of the originals that I bought. One of my best friends just bought the two piece 6'6" medium light action Lightning Rod combo and he is thrilled with it. I highly recommend them to anyone. I also highly recommend Trilene Xl for freshwater fishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SeaArk from Decent Quality The 6-6 medium-light two-piece spinning rod has been a go-to for a dozen years. It has participated in catching shell crackers and specks too numerous to count. It's mated to a Cabela's Prestige PT1500, spooled with 6-lb Stren mono; (6-lb, to accommodate the occasional channel cat, bass, 'snook', etc.). Just purchased two more (a 6 and 6-6) for the grandsons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Get em Hooked Guide Serv from Great Rods! I am multi species guide in Wisconsin. The Berkley Lightning Rods have always been outstanding, and the new design is even better! Majority of time I’m fishing walleye and would recommend the 6’ Medium Light for pitch jigging, and 7’ Medium Combo for casting slip bobbers.
