Rated 1 out of 5 by Zoiks from This is junk! I needed something like this for night fishing, so I bought one. Got home and tried it out. Buzzer was barely audible and light could hardly been seen. If you can't hear or see it, what's the point? Figured that it just needed new batteries. Undid the screw and attempted to change the batteries just to see if it would work better. Spent two hours trying to put it back together including having to re-solder one of the battery holders. Gave up after two hours and tossed it in the garbage. $8.99 with Berkley but not worthy of 10 for a dollar at the Dollar Store. This is junk!

Rated 1 out of 5 by hooty from broken items I just bought these and went to the Iron Man catfishing tournament. It's a 24 hour tournament, so when night time hit I decided to pull out my new Berkley tip light /alarm. Needless to say, I was so mad when I pulled them out of the packages and found 2 broken items. The beeping never stops so it won't alert you to a fish and the blinking never stops. Sorry to say but I ended up using my flash light until it burned out. Thanks for the epic fail.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mudcat from Here's the Instructions: TRY THIS: I bought one and also could not get it to work. Turned it on and it would not turn off. Then, I turned it on and placed it on my desk UPSIDE DOWN (simulating the position it would be in when attached to my pole). It began beeping like it was supposed to and then after about 20 seconds it turned off. Actually worked perfectly. The key is to use it in the upside down position just like it would be if attached to your pole!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pez31 from Ehh...it does what it says. I bought this at Wal-Mart because they didn't have any bells. So I thought I'l give it a try. They're no instruction a for it but it's simple. The green round piece on the bottom slides off. Attach it to your pole with the led light pointing down. Turn it on either to the beep or the light. It'll go off for about 20 seconds then stop and go off when you get a bite or if there's a small breeze or small waves or if a fly lands on the top of your pole. Also the beeping is less sensitive than the light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nfordf450 from Easy to use and works with current. I've never been happy with bells on a river. With this you cast and it somehow within a minute figures out the current of the river your fishing and does not give a false bite. If it starts beeping or flashing its fish on for sure. Bells will ring all night on a strong flooded Potomac river. Not this. Boat or land it is the best fish alarm I've ever owned. And if I could find more I would buy them. That's it's only pitfall. Walmart stoped stocking them the same year they started. And have yet to find a local supply of them. But I'm ordering some once I get my paycheck.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from Poor design.. This might work if the waters you fish are never even remotely windy. The slightest wake sets this thing off. It would be better if the LED was just constant, that would at least make it usable for night fishing.
