Rated 1 out of 5 by AnglerEm from Waste of $24.99 Darn thing simply never worked. Bought it at Walmart and thought maybe the batteries were shot from people playing with it in the store. Put new batteries in and the thing still wouldn't work. The screen display was barely visible, even with the new batteries. The only thing it's good for and able to do is toggle back and forth between 0.0 lbs and 0.0 kg. It would not weigh even the dead weight of a bucket of cat litter. The instructions are bunk and don't do what they are supposed to. Take away: useless! Thing is going right into the goodwill pile before it's even left my house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BassHunter308 from Absolutly outstanding product It's the first digital fish scale I've purchased, and it will be the only one. I'm a recreational Bass fisherman and fish no less than 4 or 5 days a week, even if it's for just an hour. I've used this product for several years now and it's never failed. I've only replaced the batteries. After reading the negative reviews of this product, I decided to do some testing. Using a postal scale (not digital) I weighed several objects ranging from 1 to almost 5 lbs. The Berkley Digital Fish Scale was spot on accurate. This is a solid, dependable product that has great features and easy to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GonePfishing from Works well....With limitations I have been through 3 of these in the past year and a half or so. These are kind of jumpy unless the scale is held very still. They are pretty accurate in the end. My major beef is with the claim of water resistance, there is none. I have replaced 2 of these for getting drops of water on one and a light spray (from rinsing my cleaning table on it from 3-4 feet away) on the other. At the price I suppose they are decent but you can save yourself from my woes by keeping these in a dry spot until needed and know that these tend to fail with minimal water intrusion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Fillet n Release from WORTHLESS Never has worked weighed a couple fish and now all it does is flash a couple of numbers and FAIL appears in the screen. Lesson learned if it says Berkley on the label just keep on movin' down the line.

Rated 1 out of 5 by GDP50 from Poor Product This scale is terrible. Constantly locks on an inaccurate weight as the fish moves. I have to weigh a fish several times to finally get a reasonably accurate weight. My old Berkley scale worked great for many years, but this one is the most frustrating scale that I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by leadhead from Great Little Scale This is a great little scale that works well for the price and application ! The main issue with weighing fish in a rocking boat is the motion imparted to the fish by even the slightest wave action on the water plus the struggling of the fish itself. I use these scales to provide weights of fish I tag for the American Littoral Society. This scale has a "Hold" feature that helps with the motion issue and locks on a weight it believes is accurate. An H is displayed in the lower left hand corner of the scale window when Hold is achieved. While it would be difficult to confirm this lock or Hold weight in the boat, I have found that it is accurate to an ounce or two when I have performed simulation tests on dry land by raising and lower the scale with weight attached trying to recreate the up and down motion of the boat on the water. It is very accurate on land under static conditions. Haven't found anything comparable with other portable field scales.
