Rated 1 out of 5 by JustinJD from Doesn't work, plain and simple. Bought it primarily as an inexpensive and quick way to check depths when ice fishing. I've tried it with 2lb - 6lb mono, 15lb - 35lb braided, and 50lb tip-up line, and not once did it work accurately. Thought about modifying the wheel to make it "stickier", but I'd rather have my money back to invest in something worthwhile. I'm going to research reels with built-in counters and see if they're at least half-way accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kentucky Wildcat from Makes trolling easier. I bought this to try when trolling crankbaits for summer crappie. Clipped on easily. Once I found the fish and their depth, it made for consistent bait placement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CapeCodDave from Might be suitable only for light line I bought this for my wire line trolling rig but the engagement mechanism is far too sensitive and the line will not stay engaged in the device without tripping it. It might be ok for light monofilament or braid but not wire line

Rated 2 out of 5 by Fishmonger25 from Some decent instructions would be nice The instructions on the package don't match the set up very well. Nothing on the website here either.

Rated 3 out of 5 by HerbinPDX from Works well with mono, but... I found the line counter works well with mono, but the little lever at the top of the unit, the one that engages and disengages the traction wheel keeps falling off. After a few trips on the water, we lost the lever altogether. It pulls straight out, so glue yours in before you loose it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BoJERJ from Won't work with my line Can't get it to keep accurate counts. It will start counting and then slip for a few feet. I have spent lots of time adjusting it with no good results. Not sure if it's a bad unit or just won't work with my braided line setup.
