BERKLEY PRO LEFEBRE CLAIMS TOYOTA TEXAS BASS CLASSIC

10.19.2009 —  – Berkley pro Dave Lefebre edged Andy Montgomery by a mere 4 ounces to claim the Toyota Texas Bass Classic, which was held on Lake Conroe, Texas. Lefebre’s three-day bag of 46 pounds, 12 ounces was enough to earn him the title and his share of the $500,000 purse.

“I was very fortunate to come out here and put together a solid performance,” said Lefebre. “Being a consistent angler in a tournament is tough to do. You don’t want to go out and bleed your best spot early and be left with nothing down the road. I was able to milk the spots that I located and it paid off. But, none of this would have been possible without the help of my sponsor Berkley. They have been by my side through thick and thin.”

This event highlights the conservation efforts of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, the other big winner from the weekend tournament and music festival. TPWD was presented with a $250,000 donation prior to the final day’s weigh-in. The donation will go towards youth fishing and outreach programs across Texas.
