– Berkley pro team member George Jeane captured the FLW Stren Series title at Toledo Bend Lake this past weekend. Jeane hauled in a three-day bag of 40-pounds, 15-ounces. The Berkley pro landed the majority of his fish using a Texas-rigged 10-inch Berkley PowerBait Power Worm in redbug color.
“I’m not sure how many tournaments have been won on the 10-inch PowerBait Power Worm, but chalk another one up for this fish-catching machine,” said Jeane. “This tournament really came down to the wire and I needed all the help I could get, luckily the Power Worm did not fail. I targeted brush piles and worked them very thoroughly to pull as many fish from each brush pile as possible. The lifelike action of the bait and the PowerBait scent kicked the fish into strike mode.”
Jeane, who earned $17, 437 for the title and a Ranger 198VX for the victory, earned the victory in his own backyard. When asked about the victory on his home lake Jeane stated he was excited to have the chance to hit his best spots for a chance to win.
