Gulp!® Saltwater Jerk Shad is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Versatile The Gulp! Jerkshad just keeps on getting bit when other baits don't. We fish it low & slow on the breakwaters & jetties here in Southern California. We also fish it fast through the kelp and shallow eelgrass on the beaches along the coast and at the islands as well. We don't leave home without a few packs on board. PS: don't let anyone tell you it's only a small fish bait, we've caught some really nice large calico, sand, and spotted bay bass on the jerkshad. We usually rig it on a lead head, with weights ranging from 1/4 to 1/2 oz. Some guys drop shot it here as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gulp Baits I am a fan of Gulp saltwater baits, and the jerk shad is among their best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The not so little bait I've been using Gulp for both fresh and saltwater fishing for years now. I'm willing to say it works as good as fresh live bait and sometimes it's better. I don't think color makes any difference so I just keep on using the same chartreuse, and new penny colors. No reason to try anything new with the great results this bait supplies. I do have some issues with the packaging. The bags and the jars leak, eventually. You have to treat them very carefully to maintain the seal. PS got this beautiful Drum on a 5-inch new penny Jerk Shad. Little bait, big fish. Tight lines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GULP SHADS! I've been buying gulp shads for awhile now and I've tried everything but gup is the winner. I buy no others when I want to catch some nice trout or reds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Producer !!! I fish So Calif saltwater for Calico bass and tried the Gulp Jerk Shad Camo with a 1/4 oz egg weight. Second cast into the kelp produced a 4 lb bass, next cast using the same bait produced another. Needless to say, I'm a believer, the Jerk actually out produced live anchovies that trip. Ready to go again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Watermelon Jerk Shad I am very disappointed in the quality of the jerk shad I have purchased. The watermelon red glitter jerk shad is now too soft and the color changes to a dark green when exposed to sunlight and hot temperatures. Something has changed in your manufacturing process. This is my go to bait for flounder and I purchase many packs each year. I have older packs from previous years which still hold their color and have a much more rigid texture that don’t get bit in half every time a pin fish hits it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very effective in San Dieo Bay. Halibut, bass, bonito all caught within minutes with chartreuse 1/4 once jig head. Drag slow along bottom. Bam!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could be a great product if only.......... I have used this product very successfully in the past and recently bought 6 containers. One container was completely void of fluid, the others were sealed properly but the shad were hard, as if they had gotten dry before being packaged and were packaged and sold anyway. Bottom line is all were unfishable (or at least would have really poor action in the water because they were not soft like they should be). Also, I tried to give Berkley this feedback by email through the "contact us" and their ridiculous "I am not a robot" would not let me through even after at least 12 tries. Then my attempt to reach them through the 800 number was abandoned after being on hold for 15 minutes. Too bad. This is an effective bait when handled properly at the factory and delivered correctly to the customer. Larry Born Tulsa OK
