No more live bait
Have been fishing with the Berkley Gulp Alive 1" smelt and 1" chartruese since they first came out, Catch Crappie is what they do... I used to spend $$ every time we went fishing on live minnows, now I can catch 10-12 crappie form each Berkley Gulp alive before it is too tore up from too many hits. I don't even use jigs anymore. Rig these things like a live minnow and just drop it down for some immediate action....it's like crappie candy. Throw 'em back in the tub to recharge them after catching several crappie and take 'em out again later and they're just like new. I will not use anything else... Told all my friends about them and now they are buying them too.Thank you berkley for an awesome product!!

Spotted bay bass killers
i bought these because of my friend jason who works at a tackle shop. He recommended i use the 3 inch pearl color and a 1/4 oz. head in the bay. I bounce them off the bottom and kill the spotted bay bass here in San Diego. I have caught a small halibut a croaker and a stingray on these baits. The scent attracts the fish while the action enctices them I have caught a majority of the fish with the bait just stitting there on the bottom because of the scent. I love these and they are my go to baits in the bay. The only slight problem is the amount included i go through these like money so i would like more in each bag maybe around 20.

A must for the serious crappie fisherman
I accidentally discovered Gulp a few years back when my local bait store ran out of minnows. I had purchased a package of Gulp from my local Walmart a few months prior and decided to give it a try. I have not purchased live minnows since then. All colors seem to work good, but for the local lakes where I fish, the 2 1/2" pink shine on a chartusse head is a knockout combination. I have even found it to work great when jusT letting it sit under a float. The one thing that impresses me the most is that if you miss a fish, they keep chasing it and hit again and agian. THIS BAIT IS AWESOME

Gulp Minnow is my favorite bait
Been using the 2.5, 3 and 4 inch minnows for 3 years now and is what I use most of the time. I fish alot, mainly for trout down here in tennessee and I expect to outfish everyone who is around when I am fishing due to my secret weapon. When I crappie or bass fish, I use the Gulp minnow on drop shot and it never fails. Read alot of reviews on this product and only negative complaint was it get's tore up from fish hits. Very soft bait and think that's a good thing, give's it the action. Main reason is fish will not leave it alone, they eat it. If you are not using, it's your loss.

Picks out the fish when the bite is slow
Chad LaChance, from Fishful Thinker got me started using the Gulp minnow. Great little things! Caught tons of fish with them. Great for jigging, jerking like a jerkbait, or a somewhat steady retrieve with little twitches. Went ice fishing today. Was going to try a few different baits. Started with 2 rods, with different jigs on them, tipped with a worm. Caught a bunch of fish, then the bite slowed way down. Switched to a gulp minnow on one rod, jigged it, and they attacked it first drop. It produced a whole bunch more fish after they got worm wise. They attacked it a whole lot harder, like they were trying to grab a minnow before it got away, so they hooked themselves a lot. It also produced bigger fish. Got an ice fishing tournament coming up, guess what will probably be my number 1 bait? The Gulp Minnow! Fished this lake before, and gulp produced very quickly. Great Product!

Great bait, just wish were more durable
Great bait, routinely outfishes live bait. I mainly use on 1/8oz jighead with 3in minnow and have caught 8 species with it, but mainly sauger and walleye. I only wished they lasted a little longer, 3 or 4 walleye/sauger and I need a new bait because the fish tears it up where it wont stay on jighead(including flipping it upside down after 1 or 2.). I save the beat up baits and cut them up into 3-4 pieces and catch crappie and panfish on a float/bobber rig. I've caught many rock bass, bluegill and crappie with pieces of the gulp minnow under a bobber. I understand they are not made from plastic so get beat up quicker, if you could get them to last as long as a standard grub/twister tail I'd give it 5 stars.

Better than minnows
I haven't had a chance to use Gulps this year but last year on our annual Canada fly-in we decided to try them and save some costs on our minnow purchase. Minnows costing up to $4.00 a dozen have a hard time staying alive so a few of us used the minnows and others used the Gulp. Fishing in the same spots, Gulps worked very well, and sometimes better than minnows!! This year we are not going to buy minnows. That will save is about $400.00. Thanks Berkley.

Every cast no matter when or where
I can get a fish 85 percent of the casts.
The other 14.95 percent are strikes.
The remaining .05 has to due with human error rigging the bait.(The bait should NEVER repeat the same movement under the surface. If it does, then reset the position of the hook).
Throw the bait out with the appropriate size hook from pan fish, crappie, bass, etc...
Tip rod to either side and main the lures position in visual sight, just below the surface, without breaking the surface, and get ready.
When it sinks below visual site, then tip the rod to make the lure present itself once again.
Repeat, repeat, repeat.
Anytime, temperature, weather, cold, etc....
If this fails to produce you fish, then you should take up aquatic swimming.
