Great redfish bait....
These 4" Ripple Mullet, especially the chartreuse tail models, work great on big reds down here in S.W Florida. I fish them in shallow water, over oyster beds and in the mangroves, rigged on a single 5/0, long shank jig hook with one or two lead nail weights stuck in the belly of the bait for stability and added casting weight. They skip under mangroves and docks really well rigged this way; then drop down with the hook up. Reds will often hit them on the drop, or on the bottom. Swimming action is excellet; big snook and sea trout also like them.

Tails Fell Off
Tried a pack of ripple mullet casting for reds and trout out of Rockport TX this past week. Used 3 of the 4 and the tail fell off all of them, without being hit as far as I could tell. Either got a bad pack or Berkley needs to go back to the drawing board with this one.

Used to be my favorite, now it's a major FAIL!!
I have been an dedicated Berkley Gulp Ripple Mullet (Chartreuse/Morning Glory) purchaser for a few years now. It has been my "go to" plastic this entire time. I found it to be more hardy than the other gulp products and I have had much success with it. However last weekend, I purchased three different packages of this product, two from one store, one from an entirely different store. Every individual one was defective. The tail would pop off without any reason. Initially I thought it was due to some "nibbles". As I continued to use them, I became aware that this would happen regardless of activity. I even had a tail pop off right in front of me after my first cast. Incredibly disgusted that I spent over $20 on a product that was defective. The fact that it happened at different stores and even different cities makes me believe that you changed something in the design that is simply a major FAIL. Please fix!!!

3" Gulp Ripple Mullet scores reds, trout, snook
I use the 3" glow/chartreuse ripple mullet either on a jig head, or on a spinnerbait with great success on reds, trout and snook down here in the 10,000 islands.
Their only shortcoming is that mangrove snapper and pinfish snatch the tails off in a heartbeat... just like they do the swimming mullet bait. It gets expensive trying to fish the grass flats or the mangroves with Gulps... though the shrimp stand up better than the curly tails or ripple mullet style.

Awesome baits
Bought the baits to try fishing the Texas marsh. Excellent baits. Caught lots of fish. Wish it came in more than a 4 pack without buying the pint size. Hence the 4 stars.
