Rated 5 out of 5 by GoJimmie48 from Best Fluorocarbon line out there I use more light and ultra light spinning reels and rods than anything else. I have tried just about everything on the market this spring, I have spooled and unspooled several lines including spider wire 100% FC, Suffix FC, P-Line FC and P-Line Flouroclear. I bought a spool of 6# XL and WOW, It is GREAT!! I have used Trilene mono XL for years, this new 100% Fluorocarbon feels like the mono I have on. No Coils, No Knots, Just smooth, Strong, and GREAT. I have learned AGAIN, If you want something to work right make sure it says BERKLEY on the package...... GREAT JOB GUYS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jimbodidley from A good bang for your buck! I have used many Berkeley products over the years. I made the switch from Berkeley professionaI grade fluorocarbon to XL fluorocarbon. What I discovered was a line with smooth handing qualities. I had no issues immediately after spooling up, which can be the case with other lines. It also casts well and has good knot strength. I've landed several hawg walleye and 5 lb small mouth bass without a break off! In my opinion, the XL fluorocarbon is a good bang for your buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MountainMan from OUTSTANDING FLUOROCARDON!!! I purchased this product for trout fishing in the Appalachians which offers a variety of stream types and conditions. I have been using the 6 lb fluoro for the smaller streams and brooks where the trout are easily spooked. Using it in conjunction with ultra-light to light gear. It has preformed flawlessly! It spooled on the reels very well. Knots are easy to tie and hold securely. It casts very smoothly and also very far when I need it to. I'm able to cast flies with a small split-shot accurately with ease and drop them into small wholes. I have used small spinners without a swivel and have had zero issues with line twist. This is by far the best line that I have used for this application. I was sceptical at the store of spending this much on a spool of line, but after using it, it was well worth the price to be able to hike miles back into the wilderness and not have to worry about line problems. God bless!

Rated 1 out of 5 by BadProduct from Birds Nest Right Out Of The Package On Nov 23 2015 I just purchased a spool of Berkley Trilene "NEW" 100% Fluorocarbon Professional Grade 10lb. While spooling my reel I noticed the line was not smooth and was full of nicks every couple of inches. Then about 20 yards into the spool there was in a knot which I was not able to untangle and had to cut and toss it away. Once I was able to get the line on my reel I tried a few practice cast. What a mess, the line just kept twisting and making one big mess after another. This experience today just reconfirms what I knew 40 years ago, If you see the word "Berkley" on the package don't buy it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BobbyCincinnatBassfisger from I bought this in 6 lb I bought this line in 6lb and it came twisted out of the box and most of the line was on one side of the spool hey I love the xl and that's all I use on my Stradic Fj 2500 .. But wish there was way to refund this ...I have been using nothing but Berkley for 18 years now.. And I've caught 7lb bass to a 60lb carp yeah it took long but caught it no problem and kept the line on..and it is the best mono out there.. But this product disappointed me a little bit.. What is the best to use on my stradic 2500FJ I fish tubes and 3/8 ounce jigs on it?

Rated 4 out of 5 by fishnwin from Good for spinning reels I have used this line for both spinning and baitcasting reels. For baitcasting it handles well. It is less abrasive resistant than the regular 100% fluorocarbon Trilene. For spinning reel, especially a more finesse style it is good. I use it for all my spinning reels when not fishing around heavy cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gary Sr from XL line I was really surprised when I opened the new XL line ,,, I have used XT for years and i still will use the XT for my main trolling line. The XL iam using as a leader for my crank baits and spinners and the action is much more responsive to the action of the crank baits with the XL... Great Line..

Rated 1 out of 5 by Big Buzzard from I'll be going back to my cheap monofilament. I am very disappointed in this fishing line. Lost a beautiful flounder (about 24") today. Line snapped 15# test and drag adjusted right. Noticed about 15 minutes later a fuzzy section on my line. It had frayed. This line has a better memory than a elephant. Tangles and loops. Spooled in correctly the first time. Took it off and real spooled correctly . Thought that would take care of my problems..... I was so wrong.
