Rated 5 out of 5 by bigtacklebag from BEST LINE EVER!!! I've been using crystal for over a year now. I've used 4,6,14,20, and 30lb test. I'm very impressed with its strength, and suppleness. Ive brought in walleye, bass, muskie, cats, and other species of fish. Once I caught a 16lb flathead on my ultralight rig. It had 4lb test and I was using a 1/16oz jig tipped with a 2" pink twisty tail. This was in the tailwaters of a local reservoir. Lots of rocks and logs to get tangled and broke off on. This line performed greatly. I was very impressed. It casts flawlessly and has zero memory. After a year of use, heavy use, I can't say its ever lost a fish for me. In fact it seems to be working perfectly and helping me land more monsters. My hats off to Berkeley for this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrianK from Strong, Castable, Durable I've been using this stuff for a few years. I use the 6lb on a ML rod for panfish and trout (throwing jigs, spoons, plugs, and spinners up to 1/4oz), 8-10lb on a Medium for walleye and bass (jigs, plastics, crankbaits, and weedless rigs), and 15lb on a medium heavy for bass and pike on lighter topwater lures. It lasts a long time, it's strong, and the crystal is easier to see when night fishing. It also doesnt retain as much water as conventional braid, which is nice for winter stream fishing. The only issue I've had is that the lighter weights can get some wicked birds' nests when you're using a presentation that dictates you let a lot of slack into the line mid-retrieve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Skip from More than advertized I have used the four pound test during my trout season these past two years now and am surprised at how well it held up under the ice and cold conditions that occurred. Though using 4 lb. I was able to hook and land a 6.6 lb. trout this year, the largest one of the season in addition to a couple others that went 3-4 lb. using the same line from last year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Twittal from I do not fish. I do make worry beads and have had a horrible time with the usual threads out there to do just that. I pearl knot the line between the beads. The threads break and split all the time. I know a lot of people who fish and they told me about fishing line. After trying a multiple amount of different lines I found the Fireline Crystal 30 lb and knew that I hit gold. The knots do not slip or break. The problem I cannot find it in Calgary, Alberta. It seemed to disappear completely. Then I found your site and I could breath a little better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bigmuff33 from Unreliable 8lb test spinning combo... This line casts a mile and can be super strong. However, you have to be careful on the knots you use and constantly monitor for abrasion by the lure or swivel b/c the line breaks VERY easily once it is frayed the slightest bit. I paid a lot for it and will stick with it for now but I will not buy again. I lost a nice bucktail for reason as the line snapped when casting... the line had less than one hour of fishing on it! Other than worrying about my line breaking it's great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by captjohn from Dependable, Durable, Great for Detecting Strikes I have been using Fire Line Crystal religiously since its introduction. THe line is dependable, durable and great for detecting strikes. Guiding clients fishing finesse plastics to aggressively fishing Gulp Jerk Shads has been successful! Teaching the importance of reading the line for strikes is made possible with the color of Fire Line Crystal. Adding a 8-10 foot leader of Berkley Vanish assists in clear water as well as adding a shock leader in fishing larger species such as Salmon, Trout, Muskies or Pike.
