Rated 4 out of 5 by Cowboy from Fireline I've been using Fireline since it came on the market. I buy in 1500 yard spools to prevent waste. The line is usually tangle free, extremely strong and has excellent knot strength. The line is not very abrasion resistant and must be trimmed off when abrasion occurs or the knot strength becomes unacceptable. Bass fishing in Minnesota means fishing in heavy cover with bass above 5lb. common. With this combination, it's necessary for the line to be almost unbreakable and Fireline meets that requirement. No line is perfect, but new fireline is the closest thing to perfect that I've used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fishboy from Crazy good! I originally started using the 8lb flame green Superline with a 3' flourocarbon leader (tied using a modified Albright knot) for walleye fishing. The flame green is extremely easy to see and allows you to see even the smallest walleye bites without feeling them (walleyes usually hit the lure on the fall when jigging). Since this line combo and technique has worked so well for the walleyes, I've since started using this same setup for bass fishing. The sensitivey is outstanding and the line strength is amazing. Highly recommended. Awesome product Berkley! Keep up the good work! FYI... For tying braid directly to the spool of a spinning reel, either use about a 6' mono leader tied directly to the spool or apply two wraps of electrical tape directly to the spool before tying your braid directly to the spool of you are not using a braid capable spinning reel. Either one of these methods will prevent the braid from slipping on the spool with a heavy drag set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChopperBlues from Awesome Braid! I used to always be a mono person with surfcasting until I decided to start checking out different braided lines. Fireline has become my #1 choice due to its performance and very low memory. Other braided lines I've tried for the same price have more memory and can't cast as fast and far. I've been so amazed at home far I can cast a 1 ounce bucktail with the 10 pound test on a 7'6" rod. The only 1 complaint I have for Fireline is it not being as abrasion resistant as other braided lines I've used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Erratic from My favorite fishing line for sure I have been using Fireline for years now and love it. It isn't as thin as conventional braids but it also doesn't suffer from wind knots like conventional braids. I like to think of it as a hybrid between monofilament and braid. Sensitivity and low diameter like braid but stiffer and durable like mono. I use it for lure fishing and bait fishing. It does after a while lose some of its coating which may make your 'smoke' coloured line go from black to a more greyish colour, but as far as I can tell this isn't having a negative influence on the breaking strain of the line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by wolf from Reliable I have NEVER had this line break on me. A little rough @ first with fresh line on baitcasters. But well worth it in long run. I have used this line for almost 20 years now. The consistent quality is there whenever I spool new line on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Native from Best of the best! This is the best fused line on the market in my opinion. Have used it almost exclusively for 3-4 yrs. Casts extremely well, lasts a long time (several years if you flip the line from the spool season to season). Tough as nails. Incredibly sensitive. Great choice especially for spinning reel users plagued by wind knots, you won't get 'em with this line!!! Doesn't dig into your spool the way many others do when fighting a fish! Stays compacted on the spool well. BTW: This line is rated (packaged) significantly lower than test results, as they say on the site, its three time stronger than mono. Don't assume that means impact strength as well because it doesn't! In the event of a birdsnest on a cast with a fairly heavy lure or bait you almost certainly will get a breakoff because all braids will break under these circumstances. If your using larger baits, consider using the mono rated/recommended braid sizes (like for swimbaits, 20# mono/50# braid, 25# mono/65# braid, 30# mono/80# braid) and you shouldn't have any cast off issues. When in doubt, bump a size! You won't lose sensitivity and you may get to keep your lure for yet another day!
