Trilene® TransOptic® is rated out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by bolaguide from Strong, reliable and visible. I started to use this product three years ago. I was looking for a line that I could see. The gold tint lets you see the line but when enters the water it disappears. I caught all these fish on 6 lbs test line over Easter Holiday weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dominic from Best line ever! I love this line. I have used it in both saltwater and freshwater. I mostly fish freshwater and have caught Largemouth Bass up to 5lbs, Yellow Perch, Crappie, and I even landed a 3.5ft Tiger Muskie! I released the Muskie boat side and didn't attempt to boat him! This line casts great, I can see the line perfectly yet is clear underwater. I have both a Quantum spinning and Revo S baitcasting reel spooled with 10-12lb line and have used a wide assortment of lures from Senkos to Large Screming Eagle spinning lures. Great strength, holds knots well, and great sensitivity! This line even held up while pulling hard when snagged on brush and rocks! Highly recommended!! To ahead and try other line and I promise you will come back to this line, I have!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Squeaky from Twisted line galore!!! I recently purchased and used this line in 6# test. It has a few desirable features BUT this line develops more twists than any line I have ever used and I have been fishing for 50 years. I know I spooled it correctly on my reel but it twisted terribly on every cast. I even used a swivel and that did not help. I tried trailing it behind the boat to remove twists but they redeveloped every time. I spent 40-50 percent of my time trying to get the twists out and that took away a great deal of my actual fishing time. Fortunately, I had another reel spooled with 8# test made by another company and this line worked GREAT. Fished with it all day and never had a single line twist. I'm headed to the store to get this line in 6# test.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bob Johnson from Strong line Been using the berkley trilene trans-optic for 7 years now and to me....it is without a doubt, the strongest and easiest line I've ever used. From fishing lakes to rivers with running currents... I sometimes have to cut the line because the knot I tie WON"T break and I normally use 10 Lb. test...hook set is perfect and when fish go into falldowns I still don't lose fish. To me....It is without a doubt, the best and the only line I'll use as long as my fishing days exist. I believe that this line is as strong as some of the braided lines on the market...this is from my experience with fishing braided and fishing with those using braided....I always get..."what line are you using..that is some strong line you got on". Try it...you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thom from Very Impressed I bought this line to re spool my spinning reel and WOW! I'm impressed. It is a very manageable line easy tie, easy to cast and looks great on the real while invisible underwater. I've tried about every brand of fluorocarbon and find this works as good or better. Great line! Here's what I caught on it first time out!

Rated 2 out of 5 by JLeon77 from Color change is cool and it is tough, but... As I said this line seems very stout and holds a knot well, but it has a real bad memory problem, as in lots of it. After a long cast it looks like an orange slinky stretched out across the water. I'm using a bait caster, which may or may not add to the problem. Hopefully after some use and line treatment it will relax a bit. Price was very good though!

Rated 1 out of 5 by upset with product from Breakage Going fishing in Ontario for bass, pike and walleye. Bought the 6lb transoptic line. Once spooled, tried to tie to a swival but kept breaking. Then tested the line and I could break it with minimal pull using just my hands. Had to take it off and throw in the garbage. Put on the 8lb version and seemed to be much better. Will find out once we land some fish. Must have been a manufacturing issue?
