Rated 5 out of 5 by Outdoor Chris from Fantastic line My wife and I first used this line last week bass fishing and I tell you, this stuff is worth twice what it cost!! It has a memory so the spool on our open bail reels can be filled to even with the rim of the spool. Mono would spin out of the spool when that overloaded but this line stays put. That means though, that the line comes off the spool easier and casting is easier and talk about making long casts, whew, this stuff is great for that! This is one tough line! 8lb. test line seems to be unbreakable. It acts more like 25lb test line. This is the ONLY line I will ever use in the future. It casts much longer, won't kink up, won't spin off the spool, is super strong and is a lot thinner in diameter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Daviofish from Combo of strength and good casting line I bought the 14lb line to put on a 3000 size spinning reel. Initially I was skeptical as I thought it seemed to be too stiff to cast well but was surprised that it does and seems to get better with every cast.Just like any slick round braid you have to use special knots to hold, I used a uni that goes through the swivel eye 2 times instead of 1 and then 9 turns. With this line and a short 30lb leader I was bending the treble hooks when hung up on a log instead of breaking off going for catfish.Granted they weren’t 3X trebles but I used probably close to 20lbs of pull force.Only one wind knot during fishing caused by me which I found it was easy to get out.The only thing I would do different is next time I will buy the 10lb for this size reel as it will cast even better with plenty enough strength.I have not found a perfect braid yet as they all have their strengths and weaknesses but this Fireline 8 carrier is pretty close to perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Capt Dean from Great line perfectly round yet soft. I purchased this line to use on my braid trolling rods as well as backing for my wire trolling rods. The line is perfectly round which helps it to lay on the spool nice and even and prevents the line from digging in. However the line is soft and easy to use should even cast well. Made in USA too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Devonp from After 3 Months It Breaks with no effort! I bought this item at the beginning of the season. No matter what knot I use including Berkleys recommended knot, it still breaks off and costs me even more in lost tackle. Will not buy Berkleys line again. They don't even contact the customer back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by fishman5000 from 30lb is about unusable the 30lb is about unusable ..... its like wire leader stiff ... only thing you could prolly use it on is a catfish rig with super heavy weight....i may try a small lb to see how that performs. def seems though

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bobby from Denver from Great product Been using it awhile, the white line stands out for these older eyes. Wanted the 8 braided kind because it is quieter and rounder. All fireline takes awhile to "limp up", ie it is sort of stiff out of the box. Thus the four stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JasonH from Tracks and mends smoothly behind a float This line is practically made for float fishing w a spinning reel. The line flies right off the reel, and mends and manages so easily on the water I was in disbelief. I can keep up with centerpinners fishing for steelhead...seriously its that good.
