COLUMBIA, S.C. (May 29, 2009) – Berkley pro Tommy Skarlis began the final day in second place, but with the help of Gulp! Alive! earned himself a victory at the inaugural AIM Pro Walleye Series Tournament in Bay City, Mich., this past weekend. Skarlis outlasted fellow Berkley pro Gary Parsons with his winning bag of 100 pounds, 15 ounces. The Berkley pro cashed a $27,000 check for his efforts.
"This was a tough tournament," said Skarlis. "It seems like an insurmountable task when you are trying to gain ground on Gary, especially on the final day. But, I was fortunate to steal one away from him this time. I was jigging Gulp! Alive! minnows and really tore the walleye up with this stuff. They can't stay away from it. It is almost like they crave it."
The next event on the four tournament AIM schedule is the Green Bay AIM Pro Walleye Series tournament in conjunction with the Fire on the Fire Over the Fox Festival July 2 - 4, 2009.
