Excitement has been building and finally time the time has arrived for the 4th Annual Berkley Big Bass Challenge on Lake Fork in Texas. The tournament, based at Lake Fork Marina, and hosted by Bass Champs takes place October 17th – 18th on Lake Fork. The event continues to grow in popularity as over 700 anglers last year vied for over $90,000 in cash and prizes, including two Skeeter bass boats. The fun continues as the Big Bass format with hourly weigh–ins guarantees exciting times throughout the day. While everyone is vying for the biggest bass over and under the slot limits to win the Skeeter boats, most checks are presented to anglers that weigh in fish in the 2–pound range. However, many anglers received checks for fish that weighed in at one pound. The rules do not allow anglers that have paid a $2500 tournament entry to fish the tournament. This opens the field for the weekend tournament warrior and recreational angler to win some money and have fun."The tournament is a fun format to expose anglers to the full spectrum of Berkley baits," said Andrew Marks, Sr. Marketing Manager for Berkley. "The Berkley Big Bass Challenge adds a different element to bass fishing tournaments. Anglers must use strategy to know when to weigh in your fish for the best results."The Berkley Experience Trailer will be onsite from Friday, October 16th at noon when registration starts until Sunday after the final weigh–in and awards. Lake Fork Marina is well stocked with Berkley baits and will have special deals under the big Berkley tent. The Experience Trailer is a fun and interactive experience with a knot tying competition, product demonstrations and a Wii video game. Several of Berkley's Elite Lake Fork Guides will be on hand to help anglers select product for the tournament.
