Product Reviews

Trilene XL is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 115.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old stand by Day in day out, it's what I use for general purpose bass fish'n when braid or fluoro isn't needed and you want a floating character for slow sinking or top of the water column. I like the green color for invisibility and it's fairly tough but limber line. Haven't lost any on 14# due to breakage and about the thickest one can go with them being line shy. Better diameter and castability than XT. Knots well and lasts at least the days activity and doesn't spool set. When they quit making the other Berkeley lines I was using, I went back to trilene XL and have been their ever since. I buy in bulk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My number 1 always this is the only line I buy. tried allot of different fishing lines in the past. this is my number 1. I love the way it casts, caught allot of trophy size fish with this line. It's tough also, fishing around trees, grass, rocks. I will never buy any other line. Trilene XL (x-tra limp) for smooth casting and less twist. I fish at least 3 to 4 times a week. I usually put new line on my reels each yr. but, with this line if you should forget, like I have. You don't have to worry, it will hold up for at least 2yrs. I know from experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Switched it up a bit So back to fishing to give this line a shot in a different situation and put it to the real test. I hit the river with this stuff. They recommend 6lb or bigger for moving water but I kept with the 4 because I love light line so much. The spot I fished was snaggy with a lot of vegetation to go with it but it did the job with no break-offs. Bonus because I saved time by not retying and money in gear not being lost. Caught a bunch of trout and some huge suckers with no problem. The trout were not big by any means but the suckers were in the 5lb range. Include the current an there is some weight on your line. Not much stretching or the line and it didn't shred one bit so another bonus. I used the Trilene knot and it was a strong knot for this stuff. Buy this and you'll be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Mono on the market!! I fish quite often in heavy current below a large dam with very rocky conditions where abrasion resistance is extremely important. This is during the spring run for 3-6 pound American shad and make literally 100's of casts a day. I have tried just about every other monofilament line on the market in these conditions and have found that Sensation holds up much longer than any other brand. Smallest diameter and very limp which results in longer casting distance and manageability. All of this at a very reasonable price. Try it out...I'm sure that you will agree...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great casting line I am retired and fish for bass and trout approximately 100 days/yr and use Trilene XL exclusively on my spinning reels. The 4# low vis green is perfect to throw small cranks, spoons and spinners for trout here in the crystal clear White River tail water below Bull Shoals dam. XL is a dream to cast on spinning reels, has the stretch needed for setting the hook on light line and a diameter small enough to not affect your lure's action while drift fishing in 4 mph river current. Excellent strength and knot reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from only line worth buying All I buy is this fishing line, in low-vis green 10lb test. I used other lines but no line in my opinion can hold up to the abuse and strain I put this line through. I have also made converts out of fishing buddies that ran different lines. Now they swear by this line. Thank-you Berkley for this and all your great products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed with this fishing line I bought a package of the Trilene XL, 6 pound test, 330yds spool, 2 weeks ago at Walmart. I re-spooled two reels with it last week and took them out fishing this past weekend. The line snapped on both reels in mid cast. (both reels are less than a year old). I've never had this happen before on other brands of line. I wouldn't have minded it so much, but when you see two, 8 dollar lures go flying across the river, it's kinda aggravating. I went home and removed the line from both reels and bought a different brand of line. I bought this line because of the price, but I guess you get what you pay for. It's Time to switch to another brand.
