Berkley® Lightning Rod™ Shock Casting
$49.99 - $54.99
- 1K Power Helix is a carbon fiber material used to produce extra strength in the backbone, necessary for the powerful hooksets and stress loads a no-stretch line produces while keeping the rods weight to a minimum for the highest sensitivity
- Suspending Reel Seat designed for Maximum Energy Transmission
- Strike Amplifying Tip is designed to give you the benefit of increased hook-ups
From bass to inshore species and everything in between, anglers turn to superline when they need a near-zero-stretch line with plenty of strength in a small diameter. Berkley® designed the Lightning Rod® Shock family of rods specifically for superline fishing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mike112 from Never buy another lightning rod I have bought two of the new lightning rod shock series made for super lines and each of the two within weeks of buying them, has had the cork handles begin to crumble and peel off. Normally I had always thought of lightning rods as great rods, and used them for years, but now I am not so sure of the quality of them any more seeing what has happened with these two rods. One I actually gave away the handle got so bad but I still have the last one I bought if anyone would want proof as in a picture. I would love to see Berkly stand behind their products and do something about this because I know they care about the quality of their equipment. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lippy from Best Rod on the Market for the price period I picked up another 7'6'' Shock bait cast rod and you can't beat it. Hands down the best rod for the price. I have fished with the high priced rods, good but they are shot after 6 months of hard fishing. I don't have a problem buying 8 of these rods a year and after the season is over give these rods away to kids in the neighborhood or to give to other people to use. Berkley products and company is the best on the market hands down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GrizzlyGunsmith from Great rod for the money For the price and what you get in the rod blank its a great buy however the reel seat needs to be redesigned or Berkley should include a list of recommended reels that fit the reel seats they use on these rods. I purchased a 6'6" Medium spinning version the reel I intended to use is my Daiwa regal 2500 XI spinning reel after installing the reel if pushed forward it would pop out of the seat and tightening more on the seat clamp would cause the reel foot to become distorted which I did not feel comfortable with. With my background in Mechanical engineering and fabrication I felt compelled to modify the seat to properly work with my reel. I ground down the front portion of the reel seat with a rotary tool I then rebuilt the seat surface with a 2 part epoxy resin. The outcome a reel seat with a perfect custom fit to my reel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Platinum1325 from My favorite rod in a long time Im 16 years old and ive been fishing since i was 11 months old my mim would set the hook on a bluegill and hold the rod while i reel it in as i sat in her lap i started bass fishing at 6 years ild with soft plastic worms and ive gradually worked my way toward my dream career of a pro bass fisherman. I turn 17 in march an in the past 10 and 1/2 years of bassfishing ive frown a love for flippin a jug and resantly a rodent to docks and heavy cover, ive had many rods that i use to flip and pitch with but the lightnight rod shock is by far one of the easiest casting and accurate casting poles ive had. Essaly my favorit pflippin stick ive had over the past 10 and 1/2 years

Rated 5 out of 5 by Starrman from Serious feedback when on the logs Been using the 7' medium spinning rod paired up with a Shimano 2500FE Sahara and 10lb PowerPro Super 8 Slick Braided, long casting with the right amount of flex in the Rod for really hammering in those long launches to trail in front of the lillypads on the side of the lake without bringing the boat in and stirring them up. Also the split cork is comfortable to use but still able to feel the Rod on a hypersensitive level to know what you are on!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Poor quality rod I bought this rod around 7 months ago with the expectations that I was buying quality with the berkley name being attached to it. I pair it up with an Abu Garcia cardinal and hit the water wide open. Now I am an experienced angler and know how to properly treat my gear for many years of use; with that being said after a month the bait holder literally seperated it's self from the rod, not from me over tightening (which I never do) but from the epoxy holding it on. Around 2 months after owning it I hooked a small bass, and the tip snaps clean off. And then to top it off, the logo on the butt of the rod falls off as well. I wish I would have went with another brand. Very disappointed in you guys this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NSUKSIG from LIGHTNING ROD "SHOCK" Best rod for the money I was highly impressed with the Berkley Lightning Rod "Shock" Casting for Bass Fishing. As a bass fisherman that fishes tournaments, someone doesn't have alot of trust in a rod that price range. I am not saying its the best rod on them market. If you were to get a tournament fisherman one to replace an expensive rod, I don't think he would have any negatives. After I used a buddies for a day, I ended up buying 3 for $50 a piece and use them just as often as the rest of my rods. If you are on the Market for anew rod, I highly suggest you pick up one beforeyou buy an expensive one
