I bought a bulk spool of the new 80 for westcoast bluefin tuna jigging. The line is ok from a functional standpoint but I like the old 5 color pattern at 20’ much better. Looking for colors to repeat on your spool (Let’s say yellow is at your rod tip. The next time I see it, I’m at 100’. Second time, 200’, etc.) is easy and more precise than 100’ colored sections. Plus, if you get burned off, you can cut back to the next color and not be guessing like you are with 100’ sections. Finally, the 5 color was thinner and stronger line than this new stuff.

I jig fish blue fin tuna, normally 300 - 450 ft down. Other metered braids are marked at 30 to 50 ft increments. Too many colors to count while trying to maintain situational awareness around me on the charter boat. The 100' color change really makes getting to the right depth easy. Caught 3 fish from 95 to 125 lbs on my last trip. The line comes off the reel smooth without binding, is strong and is very visible for night fishing. Only thing I'd change is the blue is little tough to see at night, I'd vote to change out that color for lime green.
