2017 Forrest Wood Cup winner thrilled to sign with brand titans
COLUMBIA, SC - (January 17, 2018) – Justin Atkins, the winner of the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup, has signed a sponsorship contract with powerhouse fishing brands, AbuGarcia® and Berkley®. A longtime supporter of both brands, Justin will be representing Abu Garcia’s rods and reels, and Berkley’s bait, line and hooks.
Justin has already proven himself a strong competitor within his first year as an FLW Tour pro. He has competed in a total of 79 events with fourteen top 10 finishes. Even more impressively, Justin took home two tournament wins in 2017 and made one cup appearance. He also won second place in the 2017 FLW Rookie of the Year race, and won the Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Murray.

Throughout his sponsorship, Justin will be representing both Abu Garcia and Berkley products. These include Abu Garcia’s vast rod and reel collection and Berkley’s newest bait – PowerBait® MaxScent.

Aside from competing in tournaments, Justin spends much of his time off the water visiting high school and college-level anglers. “I’m really focused on mentoring younger anglers,” he said. “When I was in high school, there wasn’t a large fishing program and I want to be a part of the program growth that is taking place today. I want to help inspire and teach young anglers and give back.”
Justin is currently preparing for the next stop on the FLW Tour, Lake Okeechobee, January 25th-28th, 2018.
