I've tried all the wacky jigs and this is the only one I fish. The eye and jig head, along with the double weedguard allow you fish it through brush and grass better than any other in my experience. Others with too much of the eye and hook shank exposed get hung in brush and grass. Here in GA, bass love brush and grass. When I take friends fishing, this is what they are fishing. We've caught 20lb blue cat, 7lb largemouth, crappie, smallmouth, sunfish, and yellow perch on them. You do have to retire them after a while, but happily after they catch 40+ fish. One modification I make is a drop of epoxy on the tips of the weedguards to keep them from fraying. Reel tension into that next bite before you set the hook, with the meaty portion of your rod, and get ready to back off on the drag a little when the big one bites. I like to fish 1/8 and 3/16 oz. The extra weight makes it easier for my fishing partners to cast and feel, and I think makes the worm ends wiggle better. One request for Berkley. No one else in the world seems to make these with a hook smaller than 1/0. If you did, with a slightly smaller thickness of hook, I'd buy those too! Last thing. These make great gifts, hooked up with a worm so all people need to do is tie them on. I also give these away to people fishing from the bank who are just getting into fishing. They are avoid hangups and are soooo easy to fish effectively!
